Spin
Though it's embarassingly simple, it's also kinda fun to play with. Mouse through an array of translucent squares and watch them spin. I told you it was simple. More interesting stuff to come. No, really. posted on 3/26/2002 08:47:00 PM
Penta
Penta is a randomized landscape (trianglescape?) of 3- to 7-sided regular, multihued, translucent polygons. Refresh the page to see a new landscape with a different color scheme. This one is ripe for exploration... I will probably pop up a few more variations in the near future, probably with slightly more constrained randomness and maybe a little less regularity. I really like the kinda-sorta-cubist feeling of these things. posted on 3/23/2002 04:57:00 PM
Popping on the Moon
My first motion experiment... sort of like being inside a popcorn popper with the gravity turned down. Click the button on the bottom to re-launch the balls (kernels? horrendous alien spores?). posted on 3/23/2002 04:07:00 PM
Maeda Wave
This is a quick port of part of an experiment on Jared Tarbell's site, Levitated Daily Source. There is some incredible stuff here, I recommend you go waste a few hours checking it out. I have to say that the work on this site was to blame for my dabbling in SVG and Flash. Tarbell's version is clearly better than mine is, but I found the act of porting aspects of another Flash-based work to SVG was really helpful in the learning process. I'll probably do a few more of these until my SVG chops are in good enough shape to do something original. posted on 3/23/2002 04:04:00 PM
Key Spline Tool
This is an enhancement of Burning Pixel's Key Spline Tool, an interactive tool for visualizing/manipulating Key Splines for SVG animations. I added a button to trigger a simple animation that uses the spline, so you can see the result of changing spline settings. posted on 3/23/2002 03:50:00 PM |
